Job Title: Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant

Job Description: Horizon Teachers is working with a warm and welcoming primary school in Wandsworth to find a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant.

As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in the SEND team, working closely with an experienced team to provide personalised care and education to a child on a 1:1 basis, enabling them to thrive in a mainstream school setting.

Key Responsibilities:

* Work closely with the SEND team to provide individualised support to a child with special educational needs
* Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering lessons to meet the child's needs
* Develop and maintain a positive relationship with the child, their family, and other professionals involved in their care
* Contribute to the development of the child's Individual Education Plan (IEP)

Requirements:

* Experience working with children in EYFS or Primary settings
* Experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs, either in a personal or educational capacity
* Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children with special needs
* Knowledge of relevant safeguarding policies and procedures
