Lead Special Education Needs Specialist

GSL Education - London is seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to fill the role of Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) for a special school catering to young people aged 11-18 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in Barnet.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive SEN policies and procedures.
- Conduct assessments and coordinate individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to adapt curricula and teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning requirements.
- Provide training and support to teachers and staff on SEN-related issues.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of SEN interventions and make necessary adjustments.
- Ensure all safeguarding and child protection protocols are strictly followed.
Required Qualifications:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with specialized training in Special Educational Needs.
- In-depth knowledge of SEN legislation and best practices.
