Job Title: Environmental Advisor

Blue Arrow is seeking a skilled Environmental Advisor to join our team at a leading Recycling Company in Lancashire.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide direct support to the SHEQ Manager to achieve industry-leading levels of performance in environmental management and compliance. This role involves working closely with the SHEQ team, Logistics & Offtake Team, Business & Finance Team, and Operational & Maintenance Teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Regulatory Compliance: Work in accordance with the company's Safety, Health, Environmental & Quality policy and procedures, leading, monitoring, and reporting on all site activities associated with environmental management and the MRF code of practice.
  • Documentation Management: Support the updating of facility environmental management documentation and communications, including staff awareness training, and liaise with external service providers and regulators to collate, store, and record environmental management work-related documentation.
  • Environmental Inspections and Audit: Lead environmental management & compliance audits, report writing, and follow-up of corrective actions, as well as lead environmental permit reporting and EA notifications.
  • Project Assistance: Carry out ad hoc environmental management-related project work, support project delivery, and lead the Waste Audit Team to deliver the MRF code of practice quarterly sampling programme.

Requirements:

  • CIWM (WAMITAB) Level 4 Medium Risk Non-Hazardous Waste Treatment & Transfer qualification.
  • Relevant experience in environmental advisory management in waste, manufacturing, chemical, or similar environments.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interface with all levels of the company and external bodies.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of environmental management statutory and regulatory legislation, including internal policy and procedures.
