Blue Arrow is recruiting a Permanent Environmental Advisor to work with a growing Recycling Company in Lancashire.

Job Summary:

The Environmental Advisor will be responsible for providing direct support to the SHEQ Manager to achieve industry-leading levels of performance in terms of environmental management and compliance in accordance with the company quality systems and all legislative requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Regulatory Compliance: Work in accordance with the company Safety, Health, Environmental & Quality policy, and procedures.
  • Documentation Management: Support in the updating of facility environmental management documentation and communications, to include the delivery of staff awareness training as required.
  • Environmental Inspections and Audit: Lead in the undertaking of environmental management & compliance audits, to include report writing and follow-up of corrective actions.
  • Project Assistance: Carry out any other ad hoc environmental management-related project work as requested by the SHEQ Manager.

Accountabilities:

The post holder will have direct reports: Waste Auditors (x 3)

Key Relationships:

The post holder reports directly to the SHEQ Manager. They will also work collaboratively with the following:

  • SHEQ team.
  • Logistics & Offtake Team.
  • Business & Finance Team.
  • Operational & Maintenance Teams.

Requirements:

  • CIWM (WAMITAB) Level 4 Medium Risk Non-Hazardous Waste Treatment & Transfer.
  • Relevant experience of environmental advisory management in waste, manufacturing, chemical or similar environments.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interface with all levels of the company and external bodies.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of appropriate environmental management statutory and regulatory legislation, to include internal policy and procedures.
