Job Title: Clinical/Counselling Psychologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to join our team at the Transformation Unit. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality psychological services to patients with cancer.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, where you will have the chance to develop and implement highly specialized clinical health psychology pathways for patients living with cancer. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to provide timely and equitable access to appropriate mental health support integrated with cancer care clinical pathways.

As a Senior Clinical Psychologist, you will be responsible for training and supporting MDT colleagues in delivering psychologically informed care and facilitating Level 2 psychological skills. You will also play a key role in providing clinical supervision to MDT teams, ensuring high standards of psychological practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement highly specialized clinical health psychology pathways for patients living with cancer.
  • Provide training and support to MDT colleagues in delivering psychologically informed care and facilitating Level 2 psychological skills.
  • Provide clinical supervision to MDT teams, ensuring high standards of psychological practice.
  • Contribute to the implementation, development, and evaluation of the service.
  • Provide highly specialized psychological therapy and assessment for patients with cancer, in line with the best available evidence.
  • Offer supervision in psychological skills to other less experienced psychological practitioners and to health service staff working in the service.
  • Contribute to and facilitate a varied training programme for health care professionals.
  • Attend and contribute to triage meetings and contribute to highly specialist clinical health psychology discussions for patients living with cancer.
Person Specification
  • Registered with the regulatory body (e.g. BABPC or HCPC).
  • Clinical or Counselling Psychologist HCPC Registered Practitioner Psychologist or Cognitive Behavioural Therapist with completed appropriate training in CBT therapy.
  • Further training or experience in the specialist field.
  • Prepared to undertake substantial post-qualification training in one or more additional specialized areas of psychological practice.
  • Training and qualifications in research methodology, staff training, and/or other fields of applied psychological interventions.
