About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Clinical Psychologist to join our Transformation Unit as a Macmillan Principal Clinical Psychologist. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and innovative environment, contributing to the development of a new Macmillan service aimed at ensuring excellent psychosocial care for adults affected by cancer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement highly specialized clinical health psychology pathways for patients living with cancer, based on NICE guidelines and Core Standards.
  • Provide training and support to multidisciplinary team (MDT) colleagues in delivering psychologically informed care and facilitating Level 2 psychological skills.
  • Contribute to the implementation, development, and evaluation of the service, working closely with the consultant clinical psychologist, MDT colleagues, and key stakeholders.
  • Offer supervision to MDT teams, ensuring high standards of psychological practice, and facilitate triage meetings and consultation with clinical psychologists and medical professionals.
  • Conduct routine research, audit, and evaluation of the project, contributing to the development of care pathways and promoting patient needs, clinical symptoms, and approaches to care within the MDT.
Requirements
  • Registered with the regulatory body (e.g., BABPC or HCPC).
  • Clinical or Counselling Psychologist HCPC Registered Practitioner Psychologist or Cognitive Behavioural Therapist with completed appropriate training in CBT therapy.
  • Further training or experience in the specialist field.
  • Prepared to undertake substantial post-qualification training in one or more additional specialized areas of psychological practice.
  • Training and qualifications in research methodology, staff training, and/or other fields of applied psychological interventions.
