About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Clinical Psychologist to join our team at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals. As a key member of our psycho-oncology collaborative, you will play a vital role in developing and delivering high-quality psychological care to patients with cancer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement highly specialized clinical health psychology pathways for patients living with cancer, in line with NICE guidelines and Core Standards.
  • Provide training and support to multidisciplinary team (MDT) colleagues in delivering psychologically informed care and Level 2 psychological skills.
  • Contribute to the promotion of patient needs, clinical symptoms, and approaches to care within the MDT.
  • Collaborate with consultant clinical psychologists, MDT colleagues, and key stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery of care.
  • Work closely with the project manager, Macmillan and service user engagement officer to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Undertake extended roles and responsibilities as required and directed by the Head of Clinical Health Psychology Services.
  • Contribute to the development and evaluation of the service, including audit and research initiatives.
Requirements
  • Registered with the regulatory body (e.g. BABPC or HCPC).
  • Clinical or Counselling Psychologist HCPC Registered Practitioner Psychologist or Cognitive Behavioural Therapist with completed appropriate training in CBT therapy.
  • Further training or experience in the specialist field.
  • Prepared to undertake a substantial post-qualification training in one or more additional specialized areas of psychological practice.
Desirable Criteria
  • Core Profession (e.g. Mental Health Nurse, Practitioner Psychologist or Mental Health Social Worker).
  • Leadership training or qualification.
  • Post-qualification training in evidence-based therapies (e.g. EMDR, CFT, ACT).
