Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Clinical Lead to join our NELFT North East London Foundation Trust team. As a Clinical Lead, you will play a key role in shaping the ongoing development of our Eating Disorders Service, building on recent growth and identifying new opportunities for the team.

Main Duties

As a Clinical Lead, you will work closely with the Service and Strategic Lead, Team Manager, Consultant Adult Psychiatrist, and Clinical Lead (CYP) to ensure the delivery of a comprehensive community Eating Disorder Service for adult patients. You will be accountable for the ongoing development and delivery of the service, as well as promoting effective working relationships with external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide clinical leadership and quality control, ensuring adherence to evidence-based models in eating disorders.
  2. Set, implement, and evaluate clear, achievable, and measurable objectives for the Eating Disorders Service.
  3. Ensure organizational knowledge of Trust protocols and procedures, adhering to safeguarding requirements.
  4. Ensure advanced knowledge of effective risk management at the team level, including accident/incident reporting, risk assessment, and control.

Leadership
  1. Provide leadership and promote initiative, creativity, and motivation to ensure staff personal development and training needs are addressed.
  2. Coordinate the implementation of service developments and changes, ensuring operational implications are considered and disruption to services is minimized.
  3. Participate/lead in the development of an effective team and productive working relationships throughout the Trust.
  4. Actively promote integrated health professional working internally and externally.
  5. Facilitate the development of a positive and supportive team culture, dealing effectively with potential conflict.
Clinical Skills
  1. Be a post-graduate qualified psychological practitioner or graduate qualified healthcare professional, fully registered with the appropriate professional or regulatory body.
  2. Be responsible and accountable for service delivery to clients via NICE-compliant pathways for eating disorders.
  3. Assess and develop plans of care to meet the complex needs of clients with various conditions.
  4. Provide clients and families with information and education, ensuring meaningful choices that promote dignity, independence, and quality of life.
  5. Ensure practice is supported by research, evidence-based practice, literature, and peer review.

  • Post-graduate qualifications to MSc level and above.
  • Significant experience in the NHS and ED service.
