Clinical Lead NELFT Eating Disorders Service

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Clinical Lead to join our NELFT Community Eating Disorders Service. As a senior practitioner with existing experience in the field of eating disorders, you will play a lead role in shaping the ongoing development of the team, building on the growth of recent years while identifying and responding to new opportunities for the team.
Main DutiesAs Clinical Lead, you will work closely with the Service and Strategic Lead, the Team Manager, the Consultant Adult Psychiatrist, and the Clinical Lead (CYP). You will be accountable for the ongoing development and delivery of a comprehensive community Eating Disorder Service for adult patients and for the clinical standards to which the service operates. You will also play a central role in promoting the development of effective working relationships with key external stakeholders, including colleagues in primary care, from the North East London Adult Eating Disorder Provider Collaborative, the ICBs, and other statutory and voluntary agencies.
Key Responsibilities- Provide clinical leadership and quality control, ensuring adherence and competence to evidence-based models in eating disorders.
- Set, implement, and evaluate clear, achievable, and measurable objectives for EDS with the service lead, service manager, consultant psychiatrist, and pathway leads.
- Have organisational knowledge relating to Trust protocols and procedures and adhere to them, particularly safeguarding.
- Ensure and have advanced knowledge of effective risk management at team level by accident/incident reporting, assessing, and controlling risk and ensuring residual risks are added to the Trust register.
NELFT is committed to developing and disseminating expertise in the field of eating disorders, collaborating with colleagues from within and beyond the Trust in carrying out research and offering placements to students from all our constituent disciplines.
Leadership- In collaboration with NELFT EDS Service Lead and senior clinical and medical colleagues, provide leadership, and promote initiative, creativity, and motivation to ensure staff's personal development and training needs are addressed.
- Coordinate the implementation of service developments and changes, ensuring that all operational implications are considered and disruption to services is minimised.
- Participate/lead in the development of an effective team and the development of productive working relationships throughout the Trust.
- Actively promote integrated health professional working internally and externally.
- Facilitate the development of a positive and supportive team culture by taking responsibility for dealing effectively with potential conflict.
- The post-holder will be a post-graduate qualified psychological practitioner (clinical/counselling psychologist, family therapist, child and adolescent psychotherapist) or graduate qualified healthcare professional (nurse, social worker, occupational therapist), fully registered with the appropriate professional or regulatory body (HCPC, NMC).
- Be responsible and accountable for service delivery to clients, via NICE-compliant pathways for eating disorders.
- Be able to assess and develop plans of care to meet the complex needs of clients with a variety of conditions.
- Provide clients and families with information and education, ensuring they have meaningful choices that promote dignity, independence, and quality of life.
- Ensure practice is supported by research, evidence-based practice, literature, and peer review.
