Role Overview

We are seeking a seasoned HR professional to fill the position of Academy HR Director, where you will be responsible for overseeing the HR function across multiple sites. This role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with senior management and site leadership teams to develop and implement HR initiatives that drive business excellence.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in HR, with experience working in a unionized environment. You will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust-based relationships with senior management, line managers, and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert guidance and support on policies, procedures, employment legislation, employee relations, recruitment, engagement, performance management, training, development, statutory compliance, organizational design, and talent management.
  • Develop and drive people plans to foster an engaged and productive workforce.
  • Lead talent mapping, development, succession planning projects, ensuring they align with business and HR strategies.
  • Manage casework (absence, disciplinary, and grievance), ensuring optimal outcomes while mitigating associated risks.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in HR or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • CIPD qualified or working towards certification.
  • Good knowledge of UK Employment law.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment is desirable.
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrable communication and influencing skills.
