About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the success of City & Guilds as an Operational Communications Specialist, reporting to the Senior Operations Manager within our centre operations arm. You will be responsible for end-to-end operational communications to ensure effective implementation and delivery of key business processes into centres.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver communication-related projects across operational teams, ensuring seamless execution and timely delivery.
  • Design and implement communication plans that align to existing product timelines, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
  • Project manage the delivery of key customer-facing generic documents and collateral, working across teams to ensure relevant stakeholders contribute to these key documents.
  • Centralise day-to-day customer comms and track management tools, providing valuable insights to inform business decisions.
  • Requirements gathering, design, and delivery of exam office training materials, business processes, and support documentation to improve centre behaviour on exam management.
  • Line management of an Operational Delivery Coordinator, providing guidance and support to ensure team success.
About You

The right candidate should be able to demonstrate a range of skills and experience, including:

  • Demonstrable experience in writing customer-facing communication and documentation, with a focus on clarity and concision.
  • Knowledge of or experience in working in a college/school exams office setting, with a deep understanding of the industry.
  • Proficient in designing clear, concise, and standardised communications, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Knowledge of mail-merge, DotDigital, or similar, as well as management of databases, MS List, etc.
  • Experience in delivering slick presentations and/or training to large audiences, with a focus on engaging and informing.
  • Strong computer literacy, including use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint.
  • Ability to cut through jargon and complexity to present and explain information to customers simply, with a focus on customer-centricity.
