Job Title: Stock Controller

Location: UK

Salary: £27,000 per annum

Hours: Monday - Friday 8:30am-5pm

The Recruitment Co. is seeking a highly skilled and organized Stock Controller to join their team on a permanent basis.

Summary of Position:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately processing goods in and out, ensuring stock quality remains high through efficient inventory management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Booking in deliveries, verifying against purchase orders and conducting basic inspection checks against technical drawings.
  • Ensuring stock is correctly labeled and stored in designated areas.
  • Picking and packing customer sales orders for timely dispatch.
  • Collaborating with the sales team to process dispatch notes and invoices.
  • Picking works orders and free issue stock for the manufacturing team.
  • Issuing works orders with clear labeling for the manufacturing area.
  • Quickly booking completed works orders back into stock and maintaining accurate records.
  • Conducting minor assembly operations for works orders within the stores area.
  • Maintaining a record-keeping system for dispatches and supporting delivery updates.
  • Conducting regular stock takes to ensure accuracy.
  • Ensuring the stores area is clean and organized, adhering to health and safety procedures.
  • Providing flexible support to colleagues with stock-related requests.
  • Participating in company initiatives and suggesting improvements.
  • Facilitating a well-documented returns process for sales and purchase returns.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a stores or warehouse environment.
  • Excellent teamwork and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, multitask, and meet deadlines with high attention to detail.
  • Experience in checking goods inwards and outwards.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Relevant qualification in inventory management or a related field.
  • Knowledge of good practice relating to health and safety.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages, including Word and Excel.
  • Inventory control and logistical experience within a stores environment.
  • Knowledge of inventory systems and logistics/transport qualifications.
  • Customer-focused with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and use measurement equipment for quality control checks.
