About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Mental Health Nurse to join our Primary Care team at HMP Leicester, a category B prison located in Leicester.

The successful candidate will work within a multi-disciplinary team, carrying out comprehensive assessments, initiating and reviewing care plans, and developing treatment options for patients with complex mental health conditions.

This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires sound clinical knowledge, assessment skills, and the ability to work effectively with patients, face-to-face.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop treatment plans for patients with complex mental health conditions
  • Work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care
  • Assess patients' health needs using evidence-based frameworks and risk assess using sound clinical knowledge

Requirements
  • Qualified Mental Health Nurse - Newly qualified welcome
  • Current NMC registration
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development
  • Experience of working with patients, face-to-face, who have complex mental health conditions
  • Experience of psychosocial interventions, group work, and awareness of substance misuse
  • Sound clinical knowledge and assessment skills, including risk assessments
