We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Underwriting Manager to join our Lloyds Construction team at Aviva. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing a profitable Lloyd's Construction book, with a focus on both open market and cover holders on a worldwide basis.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a portfolio of construction risks, including reviewing submissions and understanding Aviva's appetite while considering market conditions.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers and clients, representing Aviva in the market and negotiating effectively.
- Provide training and development opportunities for junior underwriting staff, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their roles.
- Contribute to the development of strategy with the Head of Construction for expanding the Lloyds proposition, driving a disciplined growth strategy and portfolio steering.
- Proven experience in underwriting construction risks, with a strong background in technical underwriting and pricing.
- Excellent analytical and strategic skills, with the ability to review submissions and understand Aviva's appetite while considering market conditions.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with brokers and clients.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a willingness to train and mentor junior members of the team.
- Competitive salary, depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications.
