Aviva's Lloyds Construction Underwriting Manager Role

Aviva is seeking a seasoned underwriting professional to join its team as a Lloyds Construction Underwriting Manager. The successful candidate will possess a proven track record in underwriting both international and UK risks within the Lloyds marketplace.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Drive a disciplined growth strategy, including portfolio steering and development of business acquisition channels
  2. Analyze submissions and understand Aviva's appetite while considering market conditions
  3. Collaborate with Risk Engineers, Claims Specialists, Client and Broker Relationship Managers, Operations, and Finance to navigate the organization
  4. Exercise key responsibilities for the training and development of junior underwriting staff
  5. Deliver thought leadership in the marketplace through market engagement and interaction with producers, clients, and Aviva's peers

Requirements

  1. Experience of writing a profitable Lloyd's Construction book, ideally both open market & cover holders on a worldwide basis established broker network
  2. Confident and articulate, with the ability to engage with brokers and undertake negotiations
  3. Strong analytical and strategic skills, with the ability to review submissions and understand Aviva's appetite while considering market conditions
  4. Team player, with the ability to self-motivate and train/mentor junior members of the team
