About the Job

This is a training post, designed to equip you with the knowledge, skills, and behaviours required to become a registered pharmacy technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC). You will work under supervision with the pharmacist or pharmacy technician to carry out the required duties of a registered pharmacy technician.

As a Preregistration Pharmacy Technician, your key responsibilities will include supporting the Medicines Management Team with the delivery of a legal, safe, high-quality pharmaceutical service. You will also assist in the development of medicines optimisation standard operating procedures and pharmacy service protocols.

You will be responsible for undertaking a two-year training programme to qualify as a pharmacy technician. This will involve working closely with the Medicines Management Team to ensure all tasks in the pharmacy dispensary are completed as per objectives and providing work within the wider healthcare team to deliver comprehensive, optimised pharmaceutical services.

Main Duties
  1. Support the Medicines Management Team with the delivery of a legal, safe, high-quality pharmaceutical service.
  2. Assist in the development of medicines optimisation standard operating procedures and pharmacy service protocols.
  3. Undertake a two-year training programme to qualify as a pharmacy technician.
