Autism Spectrum Disorder Specialist Vacancy

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Autism Spectrum Disorder Specialist to join our team at Teach Now. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students across Key Stages 1 and 2, supporting their educational journey and ensuring they have the tools and encouragement they need to succeed.

About the Role:

  • Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and work closely with the SENCO to track progress and adjust strategies as required.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure a coordinated approach to support.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with ASD, adapting learning activities to meet their needs.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting students' social and emotional development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students during classroom activities and help them engage with the curriculum.
  • Work closely with teachers to develop and implement personalized learning plans.
  • Attend meetings with parents and other professionals to discuss student progress and share information.

Salary Information:

The estimated salary for this role is £89,000 per annum, reflecting the importance of this position in supporting students with ASD.

Requirements:

  • A relevant qualification or experience in special educational needs, with a focus on Autism Spectrum Disorder.
  • A strong understanding of ASD and effective strategies for supporting students with autism.
  • Experience in providing personalized learning support and implementing intervention strategies.
  • Knowledge of current SEN practices and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers and parents.
  • Patient, empathetic, and a passion for working with children with special educational needs.
