Newbury, West Berkshire, United Kingdom New Barn School Full time

About New Barn School

New Barn School is a growing school catering for SEMH pupils aged 6-19. We are searching for a Learning Support Specialist to join our dedicated team and make a significant positive impact on the lives of others.

Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum

Job Description:

We aim to build incredible futures by empowering neurodiverse pupils to be happy and make their way in the world. Our growing school delivers a structured programme of education, tailored to each student's individual needs and considering their Education, Health and Care plans.

The successful candidate will help prepare learning materials and run classroom activities, with plenty of hands-on experience and some supervision too. You will take responsibility for the emotional and physical needs of our pupils, supporting them to develop as individuals and engage with the world.

A key aspect of this role is supporting pupils with complex Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This is important and rewarding work that requires a therapeutic approach to teaching and working with SEN/SEMH pupils.

Benefits:

We place the outcomes of our pupils at the heart of everything we do, so you'll wake every day in the knowledge that your role will have a significant positive impact on the lives of others.

Our Flexible Benefits Platform offers a range of health, wellbeing, and insurance benefits, including Critical Illness Cover and Cycle to Work Schemes. We also provide access to mental health support services and physical health checks.

You'll enjoy an exceptional reward package, including Life Assurance, Pension scheme options, and a market-leading benefit offering through Vista. You'll also get 80% of your contractual hours for 100% of your pay, giving you more time to do the things that make you happy.
