Job Title: SEND Support Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEND Support Assistant to join our team at Howard Park Community School.

About the Role

This is a temporary position, although there may be the potential for it to continue beyond the initial 12 months. The successful candidate will work closely with a child with an Education, Health and Care (EHC) plan, providing individualized support in our highly regarded provision room and potentially in the classroom.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the child in achieving their potential through understanding and implementing their EHC plan.
  • Work collaboratively with other experienced members of staff to provide a nurturing and inclusive environment.
  • Develop and maintain trusting relationships with the child and their family.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of individualized support plans.
Requirements

We are looking for a candidate who:

  • Has a positive approach and can use their initiative.
  • Relates well to children and is able to work as part of a team.
  • Is enthusiastic, caring, and self-motivated.
  • Has a good understanding of SEN and the ability to form trusting relationships with an individual child.
