NERA Economic Consulting is a global firm of experts dedicated to applying economic, finance, and quantitative principles to complex business and legal challenges. Our Work

We evaluate climate change and energy policies, including emissions, renewable energy, and energy efficiency policies. We assess economic impacts, including costs, benefits, and other social effects of government policies and regulations. We design and simulate auctions, and analyze competitors. We develop pricing systems for transport infrastructure and prepare expert reports on economic and finance issues in litigation and international arbitration proceedings.

Internship Opportunities

As an intern at NERA, you will have the opportunity to work on real cases and projects, gaining invaluable experience in economic consulting. You will collaborate with internationally-recognised experts, learning more about the integral work that NERA performs.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct literature and data research
  • Perform conceptual analysis applying the theoretical literature to the facts of a case
  • Manage and clean data
  • Analyse data and interpret results
  • Have active participation in drafting reports, memoranda, presentations, and other work products

Requirements

  • Be studying Economics, in the final year of your undergraduate studies, or a current Master's or PhD student in Economics, ideally in your penultimate year
  • Enjoy microeconomics and quantitative research
  • Be comfortable working in Excel, Stata, R, Python, or other quantitative software platforms
  • Have strong attention to detail and be able to think analytically and critically
  • Strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken, and fluency in another language would be useful but is not essential
  • Be able to work effectively both individually and in teams
