Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operations Superintendent to join our team at Valaris. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the safety and operational aspects of our offshore rigs, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with Rig Managers to implement and maintain safety programs, conduct safety inspections, and investigate accidents.
  • Develop and implement personal development plans for Rig Managers, focusing on leadership development and operational excellence.
  • Assist Rig Managers in reviewing and monitoring rig operating costs, reducing personnel attrition, and improving operational efficiency.
  • Participate in on-site inspections, audits, and troubleshooting discussions to identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with Business Development to provide strong customer support and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Share coaching and counseling responsibilities with Rig Managers on employee issues and provide on-site support for rig moves.
  • Assist in capital and operating budget preparation, staying informed on governmental, union, labor, safety, and environmental rules and regulations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of years of experience in an operations management function in a business of similar size and complexity.
  • Knowledge of internal controls, financial accounting, purchasing, and management systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel at an advanced level.
  • Working knowledge of document control systems and databases.
