Family Safeguarding Specialist Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Social Worker to join our Family Safeguarding Teams in West Berkshire. As a Family Safeguarding Specialist, you will work collaboratively with other specialist workers to offer group-based interventions to families, utilizing the Family Safeguarding Model.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work in collaboration with other specialist workers to offer group-based interventions to families.
  • Adopt a strengths-based approach and apply motivational interviewing techniques to support families in identifying and achieving changes in their daily lives.
  • Work directly with children to understand their needs and preferences.
  • Take a holistic view of the individual, considering their immediate and extended social circles, and their overall development needs.
  • Access high-quality reflective supervision within a multi-disciplinary forum to strengthen information sharing and decision-making.

Requirements

  • Hold a recognized Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England.
  • Hold a current driving license and have access to a car.
  • Have good organizational and planning skills.
  • Have experience of managing levels of risk within a caseload of complex cases.
  • Have knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, guidance, and policies.
  • Have excellent stakeholder management skills, including building effective relationships with colleagues, individuals, and external organizations.
  • Have effective skills in managing conflict and disagreement.
