Job Title: Deputy Head of Academics

Luminate Education Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Head of Academics to join our team. As a key member of our academic leadership team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the curriculum and academic direction of our institution.

About the Role
  • Support the Assistant Principal in leading the academic departments and ensuring the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Develop and implement curriculum strategies to meet national and local priorities, and adapt to changing educational landscapes.
  • Lead on the management of lecturers and other staff within the department, ensuring they develop their professional practice and achieve outstanding outcomes for students.
  • Ensure the department is efficiently run and delivers its financial contribution targets.
  • Lead on the development and implementation of new courses and programs, ensuring they meet awarding body, funding, and quality agency requirements.
About You
  • You hold a L5 Teaching Qualification (e.g. Cert Ed, PGCE) and a relevant higher-level vocational qualification or degree in teaching in a subject within the curriculum area.
  • You have proven experience managing a curriculum, including planning, monitoring, and reviewing.
  • You have an effective knowledge of the college and an appreciation of the wider educational issues.
  • You are able to create and appreciate new ideas and perspectives, see possibilities and challenges.
  • You are able to manage and promote restorative practice approaches and the strengthening of relationships.

  • You are able to comply with all legislative and regulatory requirements.
What We Offer
  • Salary commencing from £42,225 with progression to £44,789 per annum.
