Liaison Practitioner for Geriatric Care

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Liaison Practitioner to join our team at Nottingham University Hospitals (NUH). As a key member of our team, you will work across Queen's Medical Centre (QMC) and Nottingham City Hospital, providing specialist care to older adults facing mental health challenges.

The successful candidate will have a strong foundation in mental health assessment and intervention, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team. About the Role
  • Salary: £38,000 - £50,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
  • Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week
  • Contract Type: Full-time
Key Responsibilities
  1. Deliver expert mental health assessments and interventions to older adults in an acute hospital setting, addressing complex psychiatric and co-morbid physical health needs.
  2. Support acute hospital colleagues in managing mental health conditions, fostering a culture of awareness and responsiveness.
  3. Actively contribute to service development and innovation, ensuring older adults receive compassionate, high-quality care tailored to their needs.
Requirements
  • A degree in a relevant field (e.g., nursing, occupational therapy, or social work)
  • Experience in liaison psychiatry or a related field
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
