About the Role

The NHS England Specialised Commissioning is seeking two Radiotherapy Clinical Fellows to join our team as part of the national cancer programme of care. The successful candidates will work as part of the national cancer programme of care, specialised commissioning, to support the implementation of the NHS Long Term Plan commitments for radiotherapy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead on national quality improvement initiatives in radiotherapy, working principally through the Radiotherapy Clinical Reference Group, the Learning Healthcare System, and national clinical policy team.
  • Support the transition of radiotherapy improvement priorities to local systems.
  • Work closely with key partner organisations to build an understanding of the national context of clinical leadership.
Person Specification

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

  • Leadership experience, specifically in relation to facilitative working with Consultant Oncologists to gain consensus.
  • Stakeholder engagement experience, including working with patient groups, key community, political, or industry stakeholders on high-profile or contentious change issues.
  • Credibility within their own service area, demonstrated through a high-profile piece of work and steps taken to ensure it had credibility in the wider health system.
  • Experience of applying clinical management skills to deliver service-level quality improvement and transformation, with specific attention to reducing health inequalities and/or improving diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
  • Collaborative leadership experience, including leading across organisational and/or professional boundaries.
