Software Development Team Leader, Platform Innovator

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Team Leader to join our Site Services department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving innovation, mentoring top talent, and shaping the future of our platform with cutting-edge technology.
The Site Services department is responsible for developing, enhancing, and supporting our online transactional processes platform. This includes delivering real-time content across multiple devices, sports websites, and mobile and tablet products, as well as processing and settling transactions driven from that content.
You will lead a team of front and backend developers with varying experience and skillsets, measuring quality and delivery, contributing to and driving improvements, and ensuring that our processes and technology are efficient and fit for purpose.
The team operates as a full-stack team, with core skills in Golang, Typescript, Kotlin, and Swift. The tech stack also covers SQL, Nodejs, HTML5, and CSS 3.
This role is eligible for inclusion in our hybrid working from home policy.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in driving the provision of a capable, reactive, and motivated and delivery-focused team.
- Enforce governance of quality, rules, standards, and processes to ensure solutions meet business requirements.
- Ensure the development process is conducted in a timely fashion.
- Plan and track works actively, as prioritized by the product, project, and development management.
- Gain a good understanding of the technical structure, domain, and architecture of the systems that the team is responsible for.
- Identify and mitigate risk.
- Remove blockers to delivery.
- Work through dependencies.
- Mentor members of the team and ensure the distribution of knowledge.
- Input developer appraisals and other performance feedback.
