Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Court of Protection solicitor to join our team at LR Legal Recruitment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mental capacity and welfare matters, with a proven track record of managing complex cases and supervising junior members of staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of mental capacity and court of protection matters, including s16 cases.
  • Supervise and assist in the development of junior members of staff.
  • Advise on the best interests regarding health and welfare issues.
  • Represent clients in the Court of Protection.
  • Assist with matters, including inherent jurisdiction, forced marriage, deputyship applications, and deprivation of liberty.

Requirements:

  • UK qualified Solicitor with experience in Mental Capacity, Welfare, or Court of Protection law.
  • Conscientious, driven, and organized in personality.
  • Passionate about mental capacity matters and enthusiastic for career progression.
  • The Law Society's Mental Capacity (Welfare) Accreditation is desirable, but if absent, support and guidance will be provided to help achieve this.
  • Experience with s16 cases is desirable but not essential.
