Senior Solicitor - Mental Capacity and Court of Protection
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Solicitor to join our team at LR Legal Recruitment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mental capacity and court of protection law, with a proven track record of managing complex cases and supervising junior members of staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of mental capacity and court of protection matters, including s16 cases.
- Supervise and assist in the development of junior members of staff.
- Advise on the best interests regarding health and welfare issues.
- Represent clients in the Court of Protection.
- Assist with matters, including inherent jurisdiction, forced marriage, deputyship applications, and deprivation of liberty.
Requirements
- UK qualified Solicitor with experience in Mental Capacity, Welfare, or Court of Protection law.
- Conscientious, driven, and organized in personality.
- Passionate about mental capacity matters and enthusiastic for career progression.
- The Law Society's Mental Capacity (Welfare) Accreditation is desirable, but if absent, support and guidance will be provided to help achieve this.
- Experience with s16 cases is desirable but not essential.
