Technical Director for Food Industry

This role will contribute to achieving an ethical, sustainable supply chain with minimal environmental impact. As the Senior Technical Manager, you will be accountable for product and technical data integrity, quality and safety complaints, recall, supplier accreditations, and technical projects.
Your Key Responsibilities- Lead the Technical department in a positive, customer-focused manner, ensuring professionalism and excellent customer experience.
- Recruit, train, and develop the team for new positions and succession planning, fostering a diverse and inclusive culture.
- Develop innovative solutions through coaching and mentoring, encouraging two-way communication and employee engagement.
- Listen to feedback from employees, stakeholders, and customers, taking action to improve engagement and develop Best Companies action plans.
- Share ideas and develop ways to improve company performance and employee engagement in line with the business strategy within the departmental budget.
- Ensure professionalism and deliver an awesome customer experience to both internal and external customers.
- Conduct regular reviews, inductions, absence reviews, and staff searches in line with company policies and procedures.
- Provide support, guidance, and expertise to internal stakeholders on supplier selection, expertise, product quality attributes, and control parameters.
- Oversee Saffron nutritional & allergen reporting software management, delivering training and support internally and externally.
- Ensure compliance with externally achieved certifications, handling food quality and safety complaints efficiently and effectively.
- Monitor trends and ensure robust processes continue to develop and evolve for customer product complaints.
- Effective supplier management, including initial selection, approval, site visits, setting expectations, providing guidance and support, issuing updates, and instigating joint business improvement plans.
- Maintain awareness of packaging regulations (EPR), compliance, and submit in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Keep up-to-date with upcoming legislative and industry changes, building best-in-class solutions for our customer base.
- Improve internal process documentation to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
As a key member of our team, you will have a significant impact on our business success. You will enjoy a competitive salary estimated at around £65,000 per annum, depending on your qualifications and experience.
