About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Social Worker to join our team at Thornford Park in Thatcham. As a Senior Social Worker, you will play a key role in supporting our service users in their recovery journey, working closely with the multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality care and support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and support a caseload of up to 24 forensic service users with mental health conditions, providing assessments, CPA reports, and Mental Health Tribunals as required.
  • Lead and promote child and adult safeguarding, empowering service users to engage in their care plans and achieve their goals.
  • Liaise with external agencies, including MAPPA, Local Authority Social Services, Police, and Probation, to ensure statutory duties are fulfilled.
  • Support carers and families of detained patients, providing guidance and advice as needed.

Requirements

  • A Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England.
  • At least 2 years' experience of working in a similar environment, with a good working knowledge of relevant legislation.
