Classroom Learning Mentor

We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as a Classroom Learning Mentor at Long Term Futures Ltd, a well-resourced primary school in Rubery. As a key member of our educational support team, you will play a vital role in promoting academic progress and personal growth among our students.

About the Role
  • Support students with their work, adapting pre-planned materials to cater to individual needs and learning styles.
  • Deliver pre-planned class lessons to provide PPA cover for the class teacher, ensuring continuity of learning and minimizing disruption to the curriculum.
  • Supervise classroom behaviour, maintaining a safe and productive learning environment that encourages students to stay focused and engaged.
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop and deliver engaging lesson plans, adapting materials to meet the diverse needs of students.
Responsibilities
  • Provide one-to-one support for SEN students who exhibit challenging behaviours, developing strategies to promote emotional regulation and social skills.
  • Offer in-class support for identified pupils, helping them access the curriculum and progress toward targets, including developing skills in literacy, numeracy, communication, and social and behavioural development.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), working closely with teachers and other professionals to ensure targeted support.
Requirements
  • Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) Qualification Level 4 (Level 3 TAs with experience will also be considered), demonstrating expertise in educational support and classroom management.
  • Relevant knowledge and experience working with pupils who have SEN, SLD/PMLD, ADHD, and ASD, showcasing ability to adapt to diverse needs and contexts.
  • A strong understanding of Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures, ensuring the well-being and safety of all students.
Salary

£100 - £120 per day, reflecting the importance of this role in supporting the academic and personal growth of our students.
