Care Development Specialist

Barchester Healthcare, a leading provider of exceptional care to residents and patients, is seeking a skilled Care Development Specialist to join our team. This role plays a vital part in ensuring the continued delivery of Good and Outstanding care by ensuring every staff member is confident and competent in their ability to work in a person-centered and compassionate manner.

The successful candidate will provide induction and development training to circa 5 homes and/or hospitals across a specific region, serving as the initial point of contact between Barchester and new members of staff. As a key ambassador for our organization, you will demonstrate passion for your role and the Barchester ethos.
This varied position offers the opportunity to witness the skilled progression of staff from their first day, throughout their Barchester career. You will work in a home-based setting, traveling around a specific region to deliver training and support to our teams.
Requirements:- C&G 7300 (or equivalent)
- Diploma level 3 in Health & Social Care or experience working in social care sector
- Working knowledge of legislative requirements in care sector
- 2 years training experience
- Full UK driving licence
Responsibilities include:
- Coordination and delivery of induction and development training against Barchester objectives and training statistics
- Providing practical, hands-on training across a variety of subjects
- Planning and publishing training calendars
- Ensuring employee training files are up-to-date
- Observing workplace practice
- Arranging induction paperwork and a buddy in advance of a new employee starting
- Maintaining regular contact with new team members, coaching, and supporting where appropriate
- Attending meetings and conferences external to the home where required
- Promoting learning and development opportunities that Barchester offer
- Working with Home Managers to ensure the implementation of individual personal development plans
