About the Role:

The Midcounties Co-operative is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Team Leader to join our store management team. As a Team Leader, you will play a key role in maximising sales and gross profit contribution from the store through effective monitoring of key areas.

You will be responsible for supporting the store's management team in managing, coaching and developing the store team to achieve positive results against the measures and targets set within the Society's Steering Wheel.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing a team of Customer Service Assistants to deliver exceptional customer service, presentation and availability standards.
  • Providing management cover and ensuring the effective operation of the store.
  • Participating in managing performance, capability and conduct in agreement with the store manager.
  • Conducting return to work interviews where required.
  • Motivating and supporting the team to provide a first-class customer experience.
  • Implementing stock control processes and educating Customer Service Assistants on best practices.
  • Conducting due diligence procedures to ensure the store operates in line with legislation and customer satisfaction is assured.

Requirements:

  • Passes in English and Maths (GCSEs or A' levels).
  • Ideal, but not essential, Retail apprenticeship level 2 or 3.
  • Confident in interacting and engaging with customers.
  • Passionate about delivering a quality service that exceeds customer expectations.
  • Take personal responsibility for motivating and supporting the team.
  • Committed to supporting the local community.
  • Ability to work flexibly to take part in the management rota.
