Mimecast seeks an experienced Security Engineer to enhance its high-performance Security Team.


You will work on building and deploying a unique SIEM solution with Elastic, ensuring the Mimecast Security Team has the best possible tooling to support the SOC and its clients.


The goal is to improve security monitoring capabilities using various security platforms, providing an enhanced security environment to deliver cutting-edge solutions.


As part of the Security team, you will collaborate with other teams in Engineering and Cloud Platform to improve existing security monitoring and deliver resilient security solutions.


Key responsibilities include:



  • Log ingestion, pipeline building, log enrichment, and log parsing
  • High-level log analysis skills, including firewall, network, authentication, system, and debug logs
  • UNIX/Linux OS expertise and shell scripting in Bash/zsh
  • Complex regular expression understanding and script knowledge in languages such as Python, Ruby, and Bash
  • Container management experience, including Kubernetes, AWS EKS, and GKE
  • Cloud technology experience, including Microsoft Azure and AWS
  • Confident participation in new security tools implementation, troubleshooting, and resolution
  • Deep understanding of security events, triggers, and remediation methodology
  • Security architecture/engineering reviews, configuration, and policy changes
  • Security tool audits and assessments for compliance with regulatory standards
  • Knowledge of core infrastructure services, including DNS, identity management, load balancers, and web servers
  • Passion for real-world Information Security and relevant industry certification
  • Experience with observability and monitoring tooling, including OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, Elastic, and Cloud Watch
  • Specialty in one or more Information Security domains, including Cyber Intelligence Analysis, Threat Monitoring, Incident Response, and Machine Learning & Artificial Intelligence
