Job Title: Street Pop Outreach Worker

At Royal Borough of Greenwich, we are committed to providing support and services to our community, particularly those who are vulnerable and in need. We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Street Pop Outreach Worker to join our team.

About the Role

This is a fixed-term contract position that will involve working with our Street Population, a community comprised of individuals with complex needs linked to alcohol and substance misuse, as well as chaotic behaviors associated with street drinking, rough sleeping, exploitative begging, sex-working, and anti-social behavior in our public spaces.

As a Street Pop Outreach Worker, you will play a crucial role in supporting clients to access housing services, treatment services, or engaging with recovery-focused activities that promote better health and wellbeing. You will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to reduce the risk of homelessness and help clients identified to recover from their issues, ensuring they are linked in to the relevant service and given the appropriate advice to afford them every opportunity to act in a more pro-social manner and to re-integrate into the wider community prior to last resort enforcement action being sought.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support clients to access housing services, treatment services, or recovery-focused activities
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to reduce the risk of homelessness
  • Help clients identified to recover from their issues and link them in to relevant services
  • Provide advice and support to clients to promote better health and wellbeing
  • Work in a trauma-informed and holistic way to identify, create profiles of individuals, and work collaboratively on intervention plans
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of the issues affecting our Street Population and be able to work in a trauma-informed and holistic way. You will also need to be able to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
