Job Title: Street Pop Outreach Worker

At Royal Borough of Greenwich, we are committed to providing support and services to our community, particularly those who are vulnerable and in need. We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Street Pop Outreach Worker to join our team.

About the Role

This is a fixed-term contract position that will involve working with our Street Population, a community comprised of individuals with complex needs linked to alcohol and substance misuse, as well as chaotic behaviors associated with street drinking, rough sleeping, exploitative begging, sex-working, and anti-social behavior in our public spaces.

As a Street Pop Outreach Worker, you will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to reduce the risk of homelessness and help clients identified to recover from their issues. You will support clients to access housing services, treatment services, or engage with recovery-focused activities that promote better health and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work in a trauma-informed and holistic way to identify, create profiles of individuals, and work collaboratively on intervention plans to help them achieve positive and sustainable changes to their lives.
  • Facilitate recovery from homelessness and support clients to access relevant services.
  • Work closely with the Community Safety Enforcement Team on their compassionate enforcement approach to this cohort.
  • Support clients with their enforcement sanctions and manage their behaviors.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of the issues affecting our Street Population and be able to work in a trauma-informed and holistic way. You will also need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
