About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Catchment Technician to join our team at South West Water. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our wastewater treatment and pumping stations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Investigate and resolve pollution incidents, working closely with our Sewage Pumping Stations Manager to identify and address root causes.
  • Support the team in responding to compliance hotspots, providing technical expertise to resolve issues and suggest solutions.
  • Manage incidents and recoveries, ensuring minimal disruption to our services.
  • Provide technical support to our Waste Water Operational Teams, helping to maintain compliance, efficiency, and asset reliability.
  • Develop and implement detailed action plans and contingency strategies to mitigate risks and optimize asset performance.
  • Conduct H&S investigations and resolve hazards, ensuring a safe working environment for our teams.
  • Contribute to the Smart Alarm project, optimizing asset performance and reducing downtime.
  • Respond to technical enquiries and customer correspondence, providing accurate and timely information.
  • Support the management team in ensuring governance processes are discharged, including Fire Alarm Testing, WAMITAB TCM site inspections, and H&S inspections.
  • Provide field support for our Energy and Water Efficiency programme.
Requirements
  • 5 GCSEs at grades A-C or equivalent, including Maths, English, and a Science subject, or relevant qualifications such as ONC, City and Guilds, or NVQ Waste Water Process or Sewerage Control Level 2.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with internal and external customers.
  • Technical expertise and ability to analyze and administer varied data sources to inform decision-making.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Corporate applications, including fault reporting and notification systems.
  • Full UK driving license and ability to undertake out-of-hours standby duties.
