As a key member of the Network Rail team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of work.

About the Role

You will be responsible for directing and inspiring a high-performing team involved in inspection, faulting, maintenance, and renewal activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain safety arrangements to ensure the well-being of Network Rail staff and contractors.
  • Proactively control and check the quality of work and the competence of team members.
  • Compile vital reports to ensure assets are fully compliant and all vehicles, plant, tools, equipment, and materials are fit for purpose.
  • Develop and implement effective maintenance and renewal strategies to minimize downtime and optimize performance.

Requirements

  • Experience in organizing and controlling the safe and efficient delivery of work.
  • Excellent communication skills, both in person and in writing.
  • Knowledge of discipline-specific maintenance, inspection, faulting, and renewal techniques.
  • Knowledge of relevant standards, procedures, and instructions.
  • A clear and inspirational leader with a strong sense of direction.
  • Hold Safety Critical Competencies COSS CRP and PC.
  • Hold Tr04 and Tr11 Competence.

Desirable Criteria

  • Hold or be working towards an NVQ level 2 or 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant subject or have attained the appropriate level of knowledge gained through equivalent relevant experience.
  • Able and willing to drive vehicles as required by business need, including driving vehicles up to 7.5t and a requirement to upgrade their driving licence by undertaking additional training.
  • Hold Safety Critical Competencies Strapping, NSCD (Ops), and Engineering Supervisor.

This role involves days, nights, and weekend working, and is a safety-critical role subject to drug and alcohol testing and passing of the relevant medical assessment.
