Stock Control Manager Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Stock Control Manager to join our client based in Edinburgh. Due to growth, they are looking for a skilled professional to support stock management activities across retail stores and warehouse.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support stock management activities across retail stores and warehouse
  • Set up procedures to review and develop current processes and systems
  • Conduct regular stock takes, working closely with store teams to ensure full understanding of systems operation and accurate inventory counts
  • Assist in identifying and resolving stock-related discrepancies
  • Schedule stock takes for all entities and associated shops/warehouses on a six-monthly rolling basis in line with year-end audit requirements
  • Liaise with Area and Store Managers to plan appropriate staffing levels to assist with stock takes and provide necessary training
  • Oversee and participate in physical stock-takes, analysing results, addressing variances, and updating stock system as appropriate
  • Report any concerning findings to Head of Finance and other stakeholders as necessary
  • Ongoing review of internal processes and data from cradle to grave
  • Work with stakeholders to develop more effective processes
  • Investigate any discrepancies and neutralise the cause(s) as appropriate
  • Ongoing training of staff to ensure systems and processes are being used properly

Requirements:

  • In-depth knowledge of multi-site stock management software such as Fashion Master
  • Familiarity with retail stock-taking devices
  • Full understanding of product cycle, including process, controls, and associated documentation requirements
  • Considerable experience in using mainstream Microsoft products, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Desirable Experience:

  • Large multi-site retail experience (two years preferred)
  • Stocktaking experience (two years preferred)
