Eating Disorder Consultant Psychiatrist Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Consultant Eating Disorders Psychiatrist to lead the assessment and treatment arm of our private service in Preston, England.

This part-time role involves a 5-hour weekly commitment, with a case load of up to 10 inpatients.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assessing and treating patients with eating disorders
  • Leading a team of healthcare professionals
  • Developing and implementing treatment plans

Requirements for this role include:

  • MBBS or equivalent medical degree and MRCPsych
  • Full GMC registration with a license to practice
  • Registration on the specialist register with General Adult or Forensic Psychiatry
  • Experience working in inpatient settings with people with significant mental health issues
  • Knowledge of the Mental Health Act and Code of Practice, as well as the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Code of Practice
  • Commitment to continued professional development
