Electrical and Control Systems Project Engineer - Nuclear Sector
Salary: £40,000-£50,000 per annum

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical and Control Systems Project Engineer to join our team and lead the delivery of critical construction projects within the nuclear industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee project delivery, identifying risks and opportunities, and collaborating with stakeholders to optimise outcomes.
  2. Assess the feasibility of designs, ensuring timely production by design teams.
  3. Lead construction works, ensuring compliance with company standards.
  4. Review and approve contractor documents under the Project Manager's guidance.
  5. Support and mentor the supervisory and engineering team.
  6. Perform site surveys and liaise with designers.
  7. Act as a site contact for project issues and Test Team Leader when required.
  8. Ensure adherence to the Zero Harm initiative.
  9. Manage systems and processes to ensure a "Right First Time" approach.
  10. Take ownership of handover documentation and drive operational target programmes.
  11. Liaise with off-site functions to promote knowledge sharing and best practices.
  12. Manage subcontractors and advise on commercial and operational risks.
  13. Contribute to work-winning processes by providing technical input.
  14. Undertake EDF-specific training for various supervisory roles.
Essential Skills:
  1. Strong EC&I discipline knowledge with relevant qualifications (HNC/HND advantageous).
  2. Experience managing construction operations, phasing, and testing.
  3. Excellent numeracy, commercial awareness, and technical knowledge.
  4. Strong leadership with a collaborative working style.
  5. Effective problem-solving, communication, and decision-making abilities.
  6. Expertise in Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) management, with knowledge of CDM legislation.
