Epsom, Surrey, United Kingdom Eteach Full time

Employee Relations Specialist Opportunity

Please note this role is across a number of schools in the above locations, and not solely for Danetree Primary School.

Are you a HR Professional that enjoys Employee Relations casework and wants to make a real difference to the schools in our Multi-Academy Trust?

We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a proactive and dynamic HR Business Partner. This role will have a significant impact for schools by addressing HR casework, as well as contributing to the implementation of an ambitious People strategy.

Your opportunity

Your role will be to lead employee relations cases across your schools, supporting leaders with practical advice and guidance in line with current legislation. You will approach your work with professionalism, demonstrating skill and confidence in addressing and challenging team cultures and behaviours to ensure they align with the Trust's values.

You will work as part of a highly skilled team of HR Business Partners, reporting to the Director of Employee Relations. You will collaborate with other operational partners and the broader People team, with opportunities to engage in project work. You will support Schools in Region B which covers Camberley, Sunbury, Epsom and Banstead.

This is a full-time all year school-based position. Whilst visits to schools within Region B will be required to support some elements of casework, using Teams and Zoom will be integral to the role. We have satellite offices at Pine Ridge School and The Beacon School from which you can work on a more regular basis.

What we are looking for

We are looking for someone:

  • Who has a minimum of a level 5 CIPD qualification with significant ER experience, preferably with a background in the education sector.
  • Who can provide excellent HR knowledge and support, bringing challenge to decision making where appropriate.
  • Who demonstrates unquestionable integrity and discretion to ensure that the Trust's HR processes are managed to the highest standard.
  • That is proactive in keeping professional HR knowledge up to date and has a commitment to personal and professional development.
  • Who is a confident communicator, able to present our people strategy to our Headteachers and other key stakeholders.
  • Who can be flexible, have a calm approach and a 'can-do' attitude, and is comfortable working at pace with multiple priorities.
  • Who interacts positively with colleagues, is solutions focused, pragmatic in their approach, and seeks to understand the needs of each of our schools.

Our Community

As a part of GLF Schools, you will join a community of staff dedicated to transforming education. With regular progression discussions, there will be a wealth of opportunities for you to grow your career, whether in one of our 43 academies or in our central team.

  • A growing Multi Academy Trust with over 2,000 colleagues and over 17,000 pupils.
  • Founded upon the values of Respect, Inclusivity, Integrity and Kindness.
  • 43 primary and secondary schools across 7 Local Authority areas across the south of England.
  • We work as a community whilst ensuring each school maintains its own unique identity.
  • Committed to ensuring all children and young people receive the best possible education.

Our Employment Offer

GLF Schools has a generous employment offer, which allows all our colleagues to Grow, Learn and Flourish.

  • Access to our highly competitive pension scheme (LGPS).
  • Work life and family friendly policies.
  • Access to a staff benefits portal.
  • Community and collaboration working model.
