About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Director of People to join our team at St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing our people strategy, ensuring that our workforce is equipped to deliver high-quality patient care and services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive people strategy that aligns with the Trust's overall objectives and goals.
  • Lead and manage the People Business Partner function, ensuring that they are equipped to provide expert advice and support to our leaders and managers.
  • Work closely with our executive team to ensure that our people strategy is integrated into all aspects of our business.
  • Develop and implement effective workforce planning and resourcing strategies to ensure that we have the right people with the right skills in the right place at the right time.
  • Lead and manage the development of our people, including training and development programs, to ensure that our workforce is equipped to deliver high-quality patient care and services.
  • Work closely with our HR team to ensure that our people policies and procedures are effective and up-to-date.
  • Develop and implement effective performance management and talent management strategies to ensure that our workforce is motivated and engaged.
  • Lead and manage the development of our culture and values, ensuring that they are aligned with our people strategy and are embedded throughout the organisation.
  • Work closely with our executive team to ensure that our people strategy is integrated into all aspects of our business.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Management or a related field.
  • Chartered Member of CIPD or equivalent professional status.
  • Substantial experience of leading a high-performing HR function in a large organisation.
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality results at pace.
  • Experience of building workforce plans and new workforce models that are underpinned by robust quantitative analysis.
  • Proven track record of leading the development of compassionate and inclusive cultures from team to organisation level.
  • Experienced leader able to influence and drive change and transformation at the highest level.
  • Significant experience of operating effectively in a political environment with inclusivity and sensitivity.
