Job Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Lung Cancer Nurse Specialist. As a key member of our clinical team, you will play a vital role in supporting patients undergoing treatment for lung cancer, focusing on diagnostic, treatment, and supportive pathways. You will work closely with our respiratory and oncology teams to improve information and support provided to patients and families.

Main Responsibilities
  • Care for patients undergoing treatment for all types of lung cancer
  • Work closely with respiratory and oncology teams to develop and implement holistic needs assessments
  • Support patients and families through diagnosis, treatment, and recovery
  • Contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings and nurse-led clinics
About the Role

This is a Band 7 position, with consideration given to a Band 6 development post. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in change management, public speaking, and quality improvement techniques. You will also have a clear understanding of clinical governance and up-to-date knowledge of professional and political issues.

Requirements
  • Registered nurse with relevant level 3 post-registration course or ENB Course
  • Teaching qualification and relevant degree
  • Clinical leadership skills, phlebotomy, and cannulation skills
  • Personal and professional confidence, presentation skills, and excellent interpersonal skills
