We are launching a national Lung Cancer Screening Programme to improve early lung cancer detection in areas with high prevalence.

Main duties of the job

This role is essential to delivering a high-quality, effective lung cancer screening programme aimed at early diagnosis of lung cancer and other lung diseases.

You will provide patient-centred care by conducting Lung Health Check (LHC) risk assessments with mobile clinics in community settings in Norfolk and Waveney.

  • Delivering specialist nursing advice and support.
  • Referring patients for Low Dose CT scans, following IR(ME)R training and accreditation.
  • Participating in audits and data collection activities to ensure programme quality.
  • Educating patients and carers on health promotion, offering brief smoking cessation advice, and referring to local services as needed.
  • Supporting team members and upholding high standards of patient care.
  • Providing culturally sensitive care that meets the diverse needs of patients and families.
  • Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure a seamless patient care pathway.
