About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional Director of Development to join our senior management team at the National Literacy Trust. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for leading our fundraising and development strategy, inspiring a team of talented fundraisers to success, and driving our growth trajectory.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to achieve income growth and meet organizational goals.
  • Build and maintain strategic partnerships with corporate partners, trusts, and foundations to secure funding and support.
  • Lead a team of fundraisers to deliver successful fundraising campaigns and events.
  • Work closely with the CEO and senior leadership team to align fundraising efforts with organizational objectives.
  • Develop and manage budgets, financial plans, and reports to ensure effective financial management.
  • Collaborate with program leads and delivery colleagues to ensure fundraising efforts support programmatic goals.
About You

We are looking for an experienced and compelling leader with a successful track record in building and delivering fundraising strategies. You will have exceptional communication skills, a deep understanding of fundraising campaigns, and experience working with corporate partners, trusts, and foundations. You will be a natural leader, able to engage, motivate, and inspire a team to achieve success.
