Job Summary:

  • Initial 1-Year contract commencing September 2024 (earlier starts are possible)
  • Mainstream Secondary School in York
  • £480 per week | £96 per day | Paid weekly on a PAYE basis
  • Providing support to 11-16 year olds with SEND and SEMH needs
  • Contract extensions available for those wanting to remain at the school beyond initial contract
  • Ideal role for aspiring Psychologists / Counsellors / Wellbeing Practitioners

Job Description:

  • Delivering tailored support to students with Autism Spectrum Condition, Speech and Communication Difficulties, ADHD and Severe Social Anxieties.
  • Developing and implementing learning activities to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Monitoring pupil progress and providing regular feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Building strong relationships with students, teachers and parents to create a supportive learning environment.

This role requires a dedicated and compassionate individual who is passionate about supporting students with complex needs. Previous experience working in mental health or education is highly desirable.

Teaching Personnel is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Psychology Graduate to join our team as a Mental Health Support Assistant. As a key member of the school community, you will play a vital role in supporting students to achieve their full potential.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing individual and group support to students with SEND and SEMH needs
  • Developing and implementing behaviour management strategies
  • Collaborating with teachers and other professionals to create a comprehensive support plan
  • Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of support strategies
