Job Opportunity: Catering Tutor at HMP Peterborough

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Catering Tutor to join our team at HMP Peterborough. As a Catering Tutor, you will play a vital role in helping prisoners achieve their functional skills qualification in English and develop their culinary skills.

About the Role

As a Catering Tutor, you will be responsible for planning, developing, and implementing activities and courses to help prisoners achieve their culinary goals. You will work closely with prisoners to identify their strengths and weaknesses and develop personalized learning plans to help them succeed.

You will also be responsible for monitoring attendance, achievement, and progression of learning, as well as challenging negative behaviors and increasing prisoners' self-esteem through a self-directed learning/teaching style.

Requirements
  • Working towards or achieved a teaching qualification in the relevant subject area OR experience in a teaching/tutor role.
  • Qualified in level 3 hospitality and catering or equivalent, with experience of delivering catering courses.
  • Food safety and in-date level 3 food hygiene certificate.
  • Interest in the rehabilitation of offenders.
  • Flexible and responsive attitude.
  • Willingness to innovate and demonstrate self-motivation.
  • Proactive, dynamic, and positive at all times.
