Safety, Health, Environment & Quality Manager – Exeter

A leading construction company in the UK is seeking a highly skilled Safety and Quality Manager to join their team on a permanent basis. As a key member of the organization, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being of employees, stakeholders, and the environment.

Your primary objective will be to identify and mitigate potential hazards, thereby preventing accidents and injuries. By implementing effective safety protocols and procedures, you will guarantee that the company's assets and reputation are protected.

As a Safety and Quality Manager, you will oversee a diverse portfolio of high-end projects in Retail, Leisure, and Hospitality, with values reaching up to £10m. If you are a seasoned professional with a passion for safety and quality, this role is tailor-made for you.

  • Develop and implement safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
  • Conduct risk assessments and provide guidance on safe working practices to minimize the risk of injury and ill health.
  • Manage and maintain the company's ISO management systems, including ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001.
  • Produce regular reports detailing current performance, areas for improvement, and areas of success.
  • Liaise with external agencies and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Manage CoSHH control measures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Support project teams in implementing safe working practices and ensuring the highest possible standards are achieved.

Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 management systems.
  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent HSE qualification).
  • Working knowledge of Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and supporting regulations.
  • Passionate about Health & Safety.
  • SMSTS desirable.
  • Relevant driving licence.
