Job Title: Configuration Engineer

About the Role:

The Configuration Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient execution of configuration control activities, adhering to established business processes and protocols. This includes building technical bid packs to support the quotation process, offering crucial input, and maintaining transparency and control over all configuration-related tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the central point of contact for recording and securely storing all drawings, customer specifications, and digital data received at the site.
  • Maintain comprehensive logs for drawings, customer specifications, and digital data, ensuring the proper functioning of the respective storage systems.
  • Lead planning, organisation, and chairing Change Control Board (CCB) meetings.
  • Keep a well-maintained configuration log and create and update documentation to support configuration management activities.
  • Ensure strict adherence to change control processes, company requirements, industry standards, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Maintain control over and manage the configuration database.

Requirements:

  • Data Management: Capability to manage and maintain databases related to configuration data, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
  • Document Control: Strong skills in document control, including the ability to organise, catalogue, and securely store various types of technical documents and digital data.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail is crucial, as this role involves handling critical documents and data with precision to prevent errors or discrepancies.
  • Problem solving: Ability to identify and resolve issues related to configuration management, document control, and data integrity.
  • Data Analysis: Proficiency in analysing data, interpreting trends, and making informed decisions based on quality metrics and performance indicators.
